PsipTN.org is a consortium of industry leaders committed to promote
SIP-based Voice-over-IP and multimedia communications via the open PsipTN™ network.
Similar to the traditional Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN),
PsipTN is the next generation multimedia communications platform
based on popular SIP standards. Members of the PsipTN.org consortium
provide SIP-compliant hardware, software, and services which interoperate
on the PsipTN network. PsipTN.org members include consumer electronics device
manufacturers, ISPs, CLECs and value-added service providers collaborating to promote interoperability, set open standards, and
create new business opportunities.
The PsipTN network consists of a globally managed peer to peer SIP-based
network spanning multiple continents and complete with
PSTN termination, origination, value-added services, and PsipTN Ready
devices including soft phones, TAs, IP phones, IP PBXs, Wifi phones, IP cameras, and a suite of consumer electronics devices. PsipTN.org
manages the global PsipTN network and is responsible for the network
operation, management, number management and general
administration.
